Who is paying for the costs of the competition and auction?
Competition: The cost of the Ethiopian cooperatives coffee competition has been financed by: ACDI VOCA Ethiopia, ECAFE Foundation, the MOARD Coffee and Tea Quality Control and Inspection Center (Liquoring Lab), by Volunteers who are giving their time to judge the competition, and the four Ethiopian Coffee Farmers Cooperative Unions.

How can I obtain samples for the auction?
To receive green coffee samples and apply to be a bidder in any of the online auctions, click here.
Where is the auction being held?
The auction is organized through an internet based auction system provided by SCAA Specialty Coffee Auction Program. Auction to be held on August 23rd 2006. Final date will be announced soon Click here to register.

From where will the coffee be shipped?
The coffee will be shipped from Ethiopia.
As a buyer of auction coffee, how do I obtain my coffee?
Trabocca BV and BD Imports are responsible for the logistics and they will facilitate your specific requirements.
Who is responsible for the shipping cost?
All buyers will share in the cost for shipping the coffee from Addis Abeba to their warehouse. All shipments are done as much as possible through consolidated transport so that the cost per buyer will be minimized.
What happens to the auction proceeds?
All net proceeds (=total of sales minus cost of the auction) are distributed back to the cooperatives in Ethiopia.
