Willem J. Boot is president of Boot Coffee Consulting & Training in Mill Valley, California, specializing in strategic consulting for coffee companies, green coffee producers and international coffee organizations. As an international consultant, Boot has been working in Africa, Latin America and Europe. He was the head judge in various international coffee events in Nicaragua, Bolivia, Honduras and Panama. As a consultant he has been working on various coffee-projects for USAID, the Inter American Development Bank and private coffee companies. Each year, Willem donates a month of his time to assist subsistent coffee communities with educational projects and quality upgrading. In the past years he volunteered for projects in Ethiopia, Mexico, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Kenya.
Colleen Crosby is a founding board member of ECAFE and Partner and Co-Founder of Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Company. During her twenty-five years as a Roastmistress and General Partner of the Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Co., she has been responsible for the selection of fine specialty coffees. She has also been an active participant in the Roaster Guild of the SCAA, is a strong advocate of certified fair trade coffee, and has served as an international cupping judge with Cup of Excellence in Brazil. Colleen’s love for the cultures and tastes of coffee comes from relationships she has developed with farmers in Nicaragua, Colombia and Ethiopia.
Phyllis J. Johnson is the President of BD Imports, Inc., an importer of exceptional quality coffees from Africa, founded in 1999. BD Imports is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), The Roaster’s Guild, a supporter of Coffee Kids, Women Food Forum, and certified Fair Trade Importer. Phyllis Johnson serves on the Sustainability Committee for the SCAA. In addition, she is involved in various local community organizations.  She has served as a Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) volunteer in Kenya. She has spoken at many coffee conferences for both the SCAA and National Coffee Association as well as in Africa. BD Imports was one of the first U.S. Importers to visit Rwanda and offer it’s fully washed coffee to the market place. The company strives to operate in a positive socio-economic environment in African coffee growing regions.
Jim Munson has served as Vice President of Dallis Coffee since he joined the company in April 2001.  Prior to this, he worked for ten years in the craft beer industry as a partner in New York’s Brooklyn Brewery.  Jim’s work in the specialty coffee and beer industries has been the subject of articles in Wine Spectator, Crain’s NY Business, New York Newsday, The Daily News and numerous trade publications. Jim was elected Chairman of the New York Chapter of  the American Institute of Wine & Food, which donated over $200,000 in educational scholarships during his tenure.  He has been active in both the SCAA and the NCA, serving as a member of the SCAA Marketing Committee and the NCA Information & Education Committee. Jim also publishes Coffee Pupil coffee information playing cards, which help educate baristas and consumers about the coffee they make and drink each day.

May 2004- present: Green Coffee Manager, Dunkin Donuts, Randolph MA. Trained as Douwe Egberts Coffee Expert: The Netherlands 1997-2004. Coffee Corps volunteer Ethiopia February 2004. Current member SCAA Training Committee. Roasters Guild. NCA Education Committee. Besides coffee, Jim also has an abiding love of food and cooking, and swimming in the Atlantic ocean with his son, Alex.
Sarah Crosby-Baker is a recent graduate of Stanford University in the Humanities Honors Program. She has worked in the specialty coffee industry since the age of eight and continues to work for her family company, Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting. Sarah has been a presenter and volunteer for two years at the SCAA, has worked as a marketing fellow for TransFair USA, has given numerous training seminars for baristi on promoting sustainable relationships in specialty coffee, enjoys pouring beautiful latte art and has received certification from the SCAA for Excellence in Sensory Skills Aptitude. She speaks Italian and Spanish, loves to travel and loves exceptional coffees.
Joseph Brodsky is coffee buyer and head roaster for Novo Coffee of Denver, Colorado. His travels to eight African countries, three countries in the Americas, and a recent wild coffee excursion with Coffee Pacifica to The Pride of Papua New Guinea 2005 coffee competition have instilled in him a boundless and growing commitment to coffee quality improvement and sustainability at origin. His passion for language and intercultural connectivity are evidenced in a growing body of published writing and photography from trips to origin.
Andi C. Trindle Walker, sales & special projects manager with VOLCAFE Specialty Coffee and consultant with Boot Coffee Consulting, has been in the coffee industry for 16 years.  Andi's varied background within the industry began part-time behind the espresso bar and includes cupping, training, green coffee importing, sales, and marketing. Andi has lectured on many aspects of the specialty coffee industry and taught numerous espresso and cupping workshops both nationally and internationally.  Andi joined the E-Café Foundation board in 2006.  She is also serving her first year on the Specialty Coffee Association of America Technical Standards Committee after five years on the Training Committee.  She is also a member of the Organic Trade Association Coffee Council Steering Committee and a Board Member of the International Women's Coffee Alliance.
